Bob Jones swim team started the 2020 competitive Alabama High School swim season off with a bang this year visiting Boaz for a very well attended invitational meet. The meet was held Thursday September 10th at Sanford / Gant Recreation Center in Boaz, Alabama. This year’s team has 20 men (3 seniors, 4 Juniors, 5 Sophomores, 3 Freshmen, and 5 Underclassmen) and 20 women (2 seniors, 2 Juniors, 4 Sophomores, 3 Freshmen, and 9 Underclassmen) varsity swimmers. Additionally, BJHS has sizeable dive team this year with 11 men and 3 women divers. The divers did not compete at this invitational meet. The BJHS men’s and women’s team returns nearly intact from a very successful 2019 season, returning a strong core of upper-classmen swimmers. This meet was well attended with 10 teams representing High Schools from all over North Alabama. Both the Men’s and Women’s team had a great meet and finished 1st overall, 1st in Men’s Division and 1st in the Women’s Division. The next closest scorer was James Clemens High School in both the Men’s and Women’s Division. While there were alot of returning upper-classmen, there were also many new faces on both the Men (4) and Women’s (7) teams who turned in fantastic, exciting swims.
