Sherell Robertson
Sherell Hobbs Robertson is in her 2nd season as Head Girls Basketball Coach at Bob Jones High School, where she also serves as a dedicated Physical Education teacher. An Auburn University graduate and former All-SEC standout under Coach Nell Fortner, Robertson brings a championship pedigree, a teacher’s heart, and a coach’s intensity to every practice and game. In her first season at Bob Jones, she guided the Patriots to a 22–9 record and a trip to the 7A Regional Finals, falling just one win shy of the State Final Four. Prior to Bob Jones, she spent one season at McNair Junior High in Huntsville, leading the team to an undefeated city championship, and four seasons at Mae Jemison High School, where she built the program into a contender and reached the state championship game for the first time in school history. Guided by her DRIVE philosophy-Defense, Research, Intuition, Vision, Execution-Robertson develops athletes who are disciplined, fundamentally sound, and mentally tough. Her approach focuses on building people first and players second, creating a culture rooted in respect, accountability, and lifelong learning. She is also the founder of Root Academy, a player development program focused on skill, mindset, and leadership growth. Married to 14-year European professional basketball veteran Quantez Robertson, she is the proud mother of Autumn, Quantez Jr., and Kendall, and an advocate for youth sports as a pathway to opportunity, confidence, and success.
